I have an enormous amount of print experience. From magazine ads to sell sheets, 16-page brochures to full-blown catalogs, I have done it all. And might I add, with a smile on my face – nothing beats the feeling of flipping through the pages of a piece that is hot off the press.
The most noteworthy project has been the Kohler literature redesign, which consisted of three specification guides, two price books, a set of nine category line books and Kohler’s first ever magalog, Bold. During this project I was stretched into a leadership position and managed to design, direct and produce a beautiful and effective set of tools for our customers, sales associates and specifiers.

Since freelancing, web design has become a huge part of my business. I have worked with developers providing wireframes for desktop, tablet and mobile and have also built sites for clients using platforms such as Squarespace, Wixx and WordPress.
Turns out my mind works really well in terms of thinking holistically about both user experiences and user interfaces. My left brain loves to organize information, develop the interactive design and decipher multiple scenarios that will lead people to information. While my right brain digs into the visual design of color, typography and layout treatments.

No matter what your business is, it has a unique personality. Make your identity come to life with the perfect combination of color, typography and creativity.
For the past year and half I have been working on our Bold ideas from Kohler blog. It was my first splash into the social scene outside of my own accounts and was a story of trial and error. In the beginning we were finding our niche, determining posting cadence, deciphering what content was viable and striking a balance between original and curated content. Nine months in, we hit our stride and boosted our followers to 18,524 without a paying a cent for advertising. Now are reaching millennials, a market that had been tricky for us to target and providing a robust source of inspiration for fans, followers and customers.
Due to the success of the blog, I was brought in to evaluate and revise our strategies for Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. We by no means have hit our stride however we are more aligned, considered and efficient in our efforts.
I love working on projects that give me illustrative freedom. On this page you will find a set of prints based on my Dad’s favorite golf holes, several series of illustrations created for the Kohler Bold blog, and lastly, a toilet campaign which I titled “When it comes to toilets, we know our $#!&. It never saw the light of day but features terribly interesting "did you know" facts about toileting.
You’d think the best part about designing wedding invitations is that you get a free pass on buying the happy couple a gift, right? Well that’s part of it, but if I am really honest with myself, I think its having the opportunity to capture the couple's personality through careful selection of paper stocks, fonts, colors and printing techniques – giving them a result that is as unique as they are.
Below are a few examples of how I pull ideas together and present my work. Click on the titles to be directed to the full presentations.
Project Proposal - This presentation was put together to inform, excite and gain buy in for an initiative my coworker and I felt passionately about. It worked!
Campaign Deck - A start to finish look at a multifaceted campaign.
Style Exploration - Sometimes clients need lots of options to figure out what they are actually looking for. This exploration provided four distinct concepts which would set the tone for the photography, illustrations, typography etc.
What's the point of having a talent if you don’t share it with the ones you love. Here you will find a collection of cards and announcements created for the people who continually enter my head and my heart.

I have many skills and proficiencies. Some of which you will care about and others you may not. My guess is that you don’t care that I am only good at math because of card games, that I have an uncanny ability to wind up in conversations with old men or that I have won every coloring contest I have ever entered. And that perhaps you are more interested in what I can whip up on my computer screen, on a napkin or in my head.
I am proficient in the adobe creative suite, with my strongest suite's being Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. While I specialize in print design, I can effectively deliver brand strategies that stretch across mediums to create compelling and visually engaging stories. Within my role at Kohler I was developing high-level concepts on both print and web projects in collaboration with our creative director and senior writer, while mentoring junior designers. Now, as a freelance designer I work closely with my clients and their vendors; listening to their goals, wish lists, and struggles to develop design solutions that work specifically for them across a wide array of marketing materials.
If we were to work together, I can promise passion, dedication and a commitment to collaborate with you until we reach your desired outcome. I am always up for a challenge and love to learn along the way.
Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you are having a wonderful day!
